Tipperary Museum of Hidden History and The Big Dig present Clonmel’s only archaeology summer camp from Tuesday 2nd July to Friday 5th July 2024. Aimed at Children aged 6 – 12 years with a curiosity about the past and how people lived, worked and played. The camp is suitable for those looking for an alternative to traditional summer camps. This fun camp combines the study of the past with arts and crafts and fun games and activities.
Activities can include excavation workshop, clay working, shelter building, coin striking, leather working, food and diet, combat, jewellery making and a water challenge amongst others. A visit to a local visitor attraction is also included in the camp on the final day.
The camp is facilitated by Mark and his team of archaeologists who have huge experience of running camps at festivals and events all over the country including at Electric Picnic.
The camp runs daily from 10am -3pm and a charge of €50 applies per child. A non-refundable deposit of €25 is required. Participants must bring lunch and as some activities are messy old clothes should be worn. Weather permitting lots of activities will take place outdoors so appropriate sun/rain gear is required.
